First day of my new 7th grade age class.  Five terrific kids who are invested in their love affair with nature.  I am so impressed by all of them.  We talked about what Avalon Park means to them and decided that we would do some free form poetry.  They were hesitant at first but the words came easily as did the cut outs they wrote them on!

Such a beautiful place to share with children no matter the age!  I am always grateful to parents who have exposed their kids to nature, camping, hiking, exploring.  It opens a whole new way of looking at the world.

Here are their poems and a few photos from beautiful Avalon Park and Preserve!!
